Sarah has been wrapping her head around the idea of birthdays since at least Stephen's recent one-year celebration that we had with Grandma and Grandpa. She'll start saying "Happy Birthday!" at random intervals. So Mama wanted to make Sarah's 3rd birthday really special.

Mama also showed off her baking and artistic skills by making a beautiful Dora the Explorer -themed cake and planning a cookout with friends and family.

The weather was against us as it was the first cold day in Arizona that I can remember, and it was exceptionally windy as well. But we got the fire going and some friends together and had a good time.
