Sarah got stung by a honeybee while swimming at the pool. I rushed her to the house and put baking soda and water on the sting, then washed it with soap and water, and put a band-aid on it. At first I thought it was a yellowjacket, since I had seen one in the area earlier, but she was lucky.
A few days later at the pool...
Sarah: You know what I learned? Bees like to go by flowers and by water! So that's why the bee was here that stung me!
Speaking of the pool, Stephen and Sarah have been learning to put their faces under the water and hold their breath a bit. Both of them have swum the length of the pool several times (using floaties on their arms still.)

What's Up With The Antibiotics Doctor
Stephen got an infection in his pee-pee and the doctor prescribed him two antibiotics - one oral and one topical.
I'm not even a doctor and know that giving oral antibiotics to a kid under 2 years old TRIPLES his risk of developing asthma later in life. Besides other serious side effects. So why would a doctor even prescribe them?
The doctor, of course, did not even mention any risks to us, and neither did the pharmacist who filled the prescription.
It's a good thing that I had happened to remember reading something about this issue previously and Stephen was protected from possible lifelong complications of what I can only call medical malpractice.
By the way, we are using the topical application only and the problem is resolving nicely.

Old Friends
Papa has met some old guys at the YMCA who are from back east (Ohio, NY) and visits with them between workouts. One of them, Nick, is a WWII vet. How cool is that!

Before
Papa just started going to the gym and is trying to get into shape. (Yes, that statement has been true at almost any given date.) The first half-dozen workouts have already done a little bit, although the bathroom mirror is much more forgiving than the camera.

Weight
Papa went from 185lb before the Mexico trip to 195lb two weeks later. Whoah! Well, SOME of that has to be muscle from chopping wood, right?
